Content Marketer

I ran editorial content SEO marketing efforts for Walmart’s three lifestyle blogs in WordPress. This included training and advising editorial teams in best practices for SEO and ADA compliance, as well as ensuring posts were promoted via organic channels, social, and affiliates.

I also oversaw editorial content for assortment pages and product description pages, managing teams of writers and agencies to ensure we were providing truly useful content that answered real questions from our customers. I scaled content efforts using agencies, AI, and internal SME resources.

Along the way, I was tasked with speccing and implementing product fixes for content hosting on site; pitching content strategies and budgets to the VP of Marketing; and reporting on the success of these strategies based on the team’s KPIs.

Managing Editor

At NileGuide, I was tasked with conceiving and managing content efforts from a network of 100+ Local Experts across the globe. I managed the main blog and hosted content from our child blogs in weekly round-ups.

I was also instrumental to the direction of the company blog and pitched and wrote content that pulled in new audiences from social and organic channels.

Travel Writer

At NileGuide.com, I started out as a Local Expert covering Tokyo travel tips for tourists. At GaijinPot, I was able to create a net-new blog experience centering around Japanese ramen that appealed to foreigners. I was also in charge of the site’s Wiki-powered Help section.

News Sleuth

As a freelance writer and contributing editor to multiple online news sites, I honed my journalistic judgement and wrote headlines, copy, and calendar content that informed, persuaded, and engaged with new audiences via print and online.
